The short version
We collect what we need to run your account, deliver your courses and follow up when you ask for the info pack. We never sell personal data. You can see, correct or delete your data at any time by emailing hello@oba.uk.
1. What we collect
We keep data collection minimal. Depending on how you use OBA, we collect:
- Account details: your name, email address and login credentials.
- Lead form details when you request the free info pack: first name, email, phone number and the course you are interested in.
- Purchase details: what you bought, when, and the payment reference. Full card numbers never touch our systems; they go directly to our payment provider.
- Learning progress: lessons completed, quiz results, project submissions and certificates earned.
2. How we use it
We use this data to:
- Deliver your courses, track your progress and issue your certificates.
- Send you the info pack you asked for.
- Follow up by phone or email to help you choose a course, when you have asked for the info pack or a call.
- Improve the product by understanding how lessons and tools are used.
3. Our lawful bases
In plain terms: when you buy a course, we process your data because we have a contract with you. When you request the info pack, we contact you because you asked us to, and you can tell us to stop at any time. Everything else, like improving lessons, rests on our legitimate interest in running a good education platform, balanced against your rights.
4. Who we share it with
We never sell personal data. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone.
We do use a small number of service providers to run OBA, and some of them process data on our behalf:
- A payment provider, to take payments securely.
- Analytics services, to understand how the site and platform are used.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers, to run the website, the platform and the database.
5. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have rights over your data, and using them costs nothing. Email hello@oba.uk and we will reply within 1 working day. You can:
- Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct anything that is wrong.
- Ask us to delete your data. Some records, like order history, we must keep for legal and tax reasons.
- Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at https://ico.org.uk if you think we have handled your data badly.
